Indian Muslim Leader: Any Aggression Against Iran’s Leader or Holy Sites Is a Red Line for the Muslim Ummah

The Secretary General of Majlis Ulama-e-Hind has declared that any threat against Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei or against sacred religious sites constitutes a “red line” for the Muslim Ummah.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a press conference titled “Support for Peace and Justice,” Hojatoleslam Seyed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi said that threats directed at Ayatollah Khamenei and holy sanctities are unacceptable and warned that the global community must unite against the US and Israeli hegemonic policies, war-mongering, human rights violations, and injustice.

Condemnation of Threats and Media Conduct

Naqvi criticized direct threats by the US president against Iran’s Leader, stating that the Muslim world would not tolerate any act of aggression targeting Iran’s leadership or religious sanctities.

“If any attack is carried out against Iran or against holy sites in Iraq, we will not allow American or Zionist elements to approach sacred places in India,” he said, adding that this position would be formally conveyed to the Indian government.

The Indian cleric also accused sections of the international media of double standards, alleging that crimes committed in Gaza by Israel are either underreported or framed in a misleading manner.

Referring to the war in Gaza, he said the Israeli regime has killed hundreds of journalists while many global media outlets refrain from proper condemnation. He further claimed that instead of highlighting Palestinian suffering, some media narratives portray Israel as the victim.

“The responsibility of the media is to defend truth and justice,” Naqvi stated. “Unfortunately, many outlets have aligned themselves with the policies of the United States and Israel.”

Gaza, Pakistan, and Regional Concerns

The cleric also condemned the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, accusing Israel of systematic aggression.

In addition, he denounced the recent terrorist attack on a Shia Mosque in Islamabad, asserting that Shia Muslims in Pakistan are facing targeted violence while the international community remains silent.

He criticized what he termed the inaction of certain religious leaders in confronting sectarian violence, warning that silence in the face of terrorism emboldens perpetrators.

Call for Global Unity Against War

Naqvi said the current global climate is deeply alarming, claiming that major powers are seeking to expand instability and conflict.

“As in the past when powerful states occupied weaker nations and plundered their resources, today Iran has become a focal point,” he said.

At the same press conference, Hojatoleslam Safi Haider Zaidi reiterated India’s historic stance in favor of peace and opposition to war. He announced the launch of a “National Peace Campaign” that will include public petitions, conferences, protests, and coordinated media activities aimed at opposing aggression and promoting justice.

“This is not an issue limited to one country,” Zaidi said. “If the leadership of one nation becomes a target today, no country will be secure tomorrow.”

Demand for International Accountability

Another speaker, cleric Jahangir Alam Qasmi, called for universal condemnation of oppression wherever it occurs, alleging that terrorism is being expanded globally by US and Israeli policies. He criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US political figures for committing crimes against humanity, asserting that sustainable global peace cannot be achieved under current power dynamics.

At the conclusion of the event, organizers outlined a series of demands:

  1. Immediate cessation of all threats of assassination or abduction against Iran’s leadership.
  2. Global accountability for violations of international law.
  3. Prioritization of diplomacy and negotiations over military threats.
  4. A more effective role for the United Nations and international institutions in safeguarding global peace and security.

Observers say the press conference reflects growing concern among segments of India’s Muslim leadership over escalating regional tensions, as well as broader anxieties regarding conflict, sectarian violence, and geopolitical rivalries across West and South Asia.
